Reiki is a spiritual healing art rooted in Japanese origin. The word Reiki comes from the Japanese word Rei which means “Universal Life” and Ki which means “Energy”.
Life force energy flows through us. This is what animates our bodies. In essence is the source of our life. This Life force feeds our organs and cells, supporting them in their intended functions. When this flow of energy is disrupted, it causes decreased function in one or more of the organs and tissues in our physical body.
Our life force responds to our thoughts and feelings. It becomes stuck in our physical bodies when we accept, (consciously or unconsciously), negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves by causing a disruption or interference in the flow of our life force. With interrupted life force, less energy gets to our organs and cells preventing them from functioning optimally. The result of interrupted flow affects our physical body and is expressed as physical disease/pain or emotional pain.
Reiki heals us by flowing through the affected parts of our energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises our vibration increasing our flow and dissipating the negative energy. Reiki clears, straightens and heals our energetic pathways, restoring the flow of our life force.
